Opening for artists from across Warwickshire
ARTISTS could have their work exhibited in a prestigious exhibition this summer at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum.
Coventry Open 2012, from Saturday, August 11, and Sunday September 30, is for artists working in any medium, including painting, drawing, print, sculpture, textiles, photography and film.
After submission, work for the exhibition will be selected by a panel of judges made up of artist and co-founder of the Marmite Prize for Painting Marcus Cope, Coventry artist Lisa Gunn and director of Compton Verney Dr Steven Parissien.
There is a prize of £1,000 for the overall winner and a Visitor Choice Prize of £100 to the artist receiving the most votes from visitors to the exhibition.
Rosie Addenbrooke, senior exhibitions and events officer, said: “The Coventry Open is a fantastic opportunity for artists in this region.”
Artists should be aged over 18 and can submit up to two pieces to the Herbert for consideration on Saturday July 28 from 10am until 3.30pm.
Each work costs £5 to enter and must not exceed 1.5m in any direction.
Entry forms can be downloaded online.
