MEMBERS of the choir at St Mary’s Collegiate Church in Warwick were invited to join award-winning band Blake when they appeared on stage at the Spa Centre in Leamington.

The church has more than one choir - the first dating back to 1123 - and today’s choristers attend a variety of local schools.

But the gig backing Blake with such classics as Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah was a real treat for both the choir and the delighted audience.

St Mary’s director of music, Thomas Corns, conducts the boys and men at morning and evening services and the girls at Evensong on Wednesdays.

Like Blake, the different choirs have also toured Europe and the USA as well as performing at major music festivals.
