This would suggest that they are not dead or incapacitated, which residents of this cul-de-sac had sadly assumed them to be.

We came to this conclusion because some time ago we wrote to these two men (environment portfolio holder and council leader respectively) to point out that we had not had our rubbish collected for three weeks. More than 30 calls, emails and letters to the 'Sort-It' teams had proved totally futile.

After five weeks, we have still not had either grey or green bins emptied, so what was an inconvenience and an irritation has become an environmental health issue. And we still have not had the courtesy of a reply from either of these men.

I don't know what's worse, the total shambles that has been the council's handling of this scheme or the rudeness and arrogance from the people who have foisted it upon us.
