Last week a man called Glenn railed against snobby, unfriendly, middle-class Leamington.
Glenn, 44, has lived in the town for eight years, but struggled to make friends. He "can no longer take the attitude" and fired a scathing parting salvo at the "children of rich mummies and daddies". This week his opinions were supported by several correspondents.

Nial Campbell wrote: "He is absolutely right. Leamington is populated by middle class wannabes who always adopt the Nimby attitude.

"Unfortunately, the majority have moved to the town and have their own rose-tinted view of how it should be.

"Groups like CLARA want everyone to live in the 19th century. It's a nice place to live, but it is also a nice place to come from - and seeing as I now live in the North West I can view the area dispassionately."

Another contributor wrote of the town's unfriendliness to 'outsiders'. He said: "I've lived in Leamington for 14 years. Fortunately I have never seen the 'snobby' side, but my wife who has moved down from Yorkshire last year has.

"Women from Leamington especially think they are something special. The attitude is appalling and if you sound different, you'll be treated different."
