Hidden beauties and deeper meanings behind everyday objects are explored by Leamington Studio Artist member Suminder Sahota.
The Indian-born former Warwickshire College pupil creates textile and photography work, taking her inspiration from her domestic surroundings.
She said: "The underlying practice looks at the objects that are around us in our everyday lives. I take these utilitarian objects and aestheticise them.
"I like to use objects that are invisible, hidden and unnoticeable - always part of the other objects, but without having an independent existence of their own, for example springs inside a mattress, decorative mouldlings or dowels."
Suminder likes to work with bright and intense colours and she has a fascination with embroidery and fabrics that stems from her Indian background.
She added: "As long as I can remember, the variety, inventiveness and richness of texture and colour of Indian textiles of all kinds have fascinated me."
Personal family photographs are also a source of inspiration for Suminder. She said: "These photos remind me of this ordinary moments which have now become special with the passage of time."
