College students brave the rain to help plant trees

Students from Warwickshire College braved the rain and mud to help restore historic trees in Wellesbourne this week.
Around 20 spent a day planting saplings on a hillside near the Compton Verney art gallery and were photographed at work as part of their assessment.
The saplings were planted inside plastic tubes to help them grow.
Compton Verney grounds manager Tammy Woodcock explained they were replacing trees which pre-dated Capability Brown’s landscaping of the grounds in the late 1700s.
She said: “We are planting trees over the next three to four years so we would like to think we can involve the college in helping us out with our tree planting. They might be able to help us with planting other things like shrubs too.”
