HUNDREDS of people shared some early festive cheer for the launch of an annual fundraising campaign in Whitnash on Saturday.

The Rotary Club of Leamington along with Whitnash Town Council and St Margaret’s church held a switch-on event for the town’s Tree of Light.

The tree will shine throughout Christmas allowing people to dedicate lights to lost loved ones and make donations to Macmillan Cancer Support (see Friday’s courier).

Town mayor Cllr Adrian Barton switched on the lights and gave a heartfelt speech encouraging people to support the cause.
