CARE homes in Warwickshire have celebrated the start of a new era as they transferred to new ownership.

The Lawns in Whitnash, which opened in 1969 and Park View in Warwick, which opened in 1968, are among the eight homes in the county which have been bought by Runwood Homes.

The move has assured a positive future for both homes, attracting significant new investment and ambitious expansion plans.

Residents, staff, volunteers and members of the respective communities celebrated the history and bright future for both homes at events on Monday.

Cllr Izzi Seccombe, who is the Warwickshire county councillor responsible for policy on adult social care, said: “I’m delighted we have been able to secure a positive future for these homes with Runwood Homes which has a strong track record in providing quality care.

“Runwood is committed to investing in and improving facilities of all of the transferred Warwickshire homes and we will continue to work closely with them.”
