DRIVERS may want to take a different route when travelling from Warwick to Leamington this April, as it will be taken over by fundraisers in wedding dresses.
Stacey Webb of Harlequin in Smith Street, Warwick has organised a sponsored walk from Shire Hall to the Pump Room Gardens on Sunday April 15.
Participants will dress up in wedding attire as they do the walk to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease.
Miss Webb said: “A very close friend of mine had one sibling pass away from it and then her other sibling was diagnosed.
“To lose one sibling with the condition is hard enough, but then less than 18 months later to have another one diagnosed is so hard, because you know what they will have to go through.
“It should be a good giggle, the more we can get to take part the better, would be fantastic. You don’t have to be the fittest to take part, but it should be a whole lot of fun.”
To take part visit the Harlequin shop for sponsorship forms, or donate into the collection tin in the shop. You can also donate your old wedding and bridesmaids dresses to the cause.
