Suburban encroachment

PROPOSALS to build 250 new homes on land between Banbury Road and Gallows Hill will be exhibited on Thursday in St Nicholas Church, next to the park in Warwick.

Developers William Davies Ltd and Hallam Land Management want to present their plans for the area off Banbury Road which is not green belt but classified as an area of restraint.

James Mackay of the Warwick Society hopes that as many people as possible will attend the exhibition, which runs from 3pm until 7pm and take the opportunity of finding out more.

He says: “Members of the society feel the town will be very badly affected if this development goes ahead. It will represent the suburbanisation of more of the edge of Warwick and certainly lead to increased traffic congestion in the town centre.”
