ARTISTIC gymnast Matthew Hennessey visited Claverdon Primary School this week where he demonstrated his skills and inspired pupils, writes Isabelle Holt and Sabyn Pruthi from Year 5.

The Team GB and Olympic hopeful put the youngsters through their paces on a sponsored circuit training session on Tuesday.

Year 6 pupil William Kingston-Cox said: “The circuits were action-packed and Matthew’s demonstration never had a dull moment.”

Isabelle Holt, from year 5, said she was stunned by the gymnast’s ability.

Matthew has already competed in the Junior and Senior Commonwealth Games as well the Northern European Championships and is now set to compete in the qualifications for Team GB.
