Beauty students glam up hospital patients

A FREE festive treat was supplied to patients at Warwick Hospital by Warwickshire College students, who spent time giving hair and beauty treatments to people staying on wards over the Christmas period.
The visit was organised by healthcare charity Kissing It Better, whose co-founder Jill Fraser said: “Although this scheme now operates throughout the year, we are aware that Christmas can be a lonely time for patients. So we have been working especially hard with Warwick Hospital over the last few weeks to arrange these events.”
The trust is unable to allow decorations to be put up on wards due to the risk of infection they may bring, so staff are encouraged to wear festive accessories in the weeks surrounding Christmas and visitors are invited to wear festive jumpers and novelty jewellery.
Kissing It Better also arranges for health and social care students from Warwickshire College to visit patients, while schoolchildren also regularly visit the hospital to perform songs and members of Playbox Theatre come in to recite readings.
