Aylesford pupils in final push to get to Indonesia
MHLC-07-07-12 Indonesia trip Jul42 A group of Aylesford School sixth form students are fundraising for a conservation trip to Indonesia this summer. Some of the companies that agreed to sponsor them have pulled out, but Sainsbury's are still letting them pack bags. From left,Kim Williams,Emma Rogers,Gemma McCubbin,Meg Heton and Tom Robiquet.
A TROPICAL jungle and coral reefs in Indonesia are part of what’s in store for a group of Warwick school-leavers in less than a month.
But with the Aylesford School pupils’ trip costing £27,500, they still have a significant amount of fundraising to do to get them there.
Despite sponsorship from businesses not being as forthcoming as the 13-strong group had hoped, the youngsters are determined to go on the Operation Wallacea environmental trip, during which they will sleep in hammocks in the jungle, learn how to deep sea dive and carry out conservation work.
The students fly to Jakarta on August 6. To contribute towards their trip, see the group bag-packing at Marks & Spencer in Stratford tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday or email e@aylesford-elearning.net
