Sweet shop puts the fun back into business
Two businesses in Leamington have linked up to send sweets to local companies.
Financial advisers Harrison, Beale and Owen are sending packs of jelly beans bought from sweet shop Lantern Corner in Regent Street to potential clients across the region.
HB&O managing director Rob Kendall said the company had already bought 200 packs to hand out to new contacts and planned to send out many more.
He said: “People in the financial sector are sometimes accused of being preoccupied with counting the pennies which is why our new slogan is ‘more than just bean counters’.
“We already had a large pot of jelly beans in reception at our offices in Leamington and Coventry and I’m sure some clients just pop in to grab a handful.
“We had a few options, but in the end jelly beans were the sensible choice over coffee beans and baked beans.
“As the company was set up to support businesses of all sizes in the area, it was also important for us to work with another local firm.
“This traditional sweet shop is a thriving business and we look forward to continuing working with them.”
Steve Price opened Lantern Corner sweet shop 18 months ago and said the jelly beans had proved to be a novel way of making an impression.
He said: “It’s great to team up with another local business and the jelly beans really will bring a bit of fun into offices.
“People always like to receive sweets and I think this is a fantastic idea.
“It is the first time we have done this kind of promotion but we already do gift bags for children’s parties. However, the majority of our customers are regulars who come in for their daily sugar fix.”
