Brakes wanted Dunkley to stay

Leamington manager Jason Cadden and chairman David Hucker say they didn't want Russ Dunkley to leave the New Windmill.
Leamington are looking for a new forward following the departure of Russell Dunkley to Brackley Town.
The target man's transfer to Brackley Town was formally completed this week, leaving a hole in Cadden's table-topping squad.
The switch came as something of a surprise to fans, as he had appeared to make the number nine shirt his own.
Cadden said: "We're disappointed he's gone, but they made him an offer and if someone doubled your money you'd move on as well."
"It's a step up for him and I wish him well. He's a decent lad and I liked him. He's got presence, he holds the ball up and plays people in and he's not selfish - which you don't see much of these days."
Dunkley was part of the Brackley squad that won the Hellenic League title in 2003-04, switching to Woodford United and scoring 40 goals in two seasons before joining Brakes last summer.
Chairman David Hucker was also disappointed by Dunkley's departure, saying: "They made him an offer he couldn't refuse."
Brackley boss Dave Oldfield, whose well-financed team is eighth in the Southern Premier Division, said: "When he was here previously he did very well for us and he adds to our firepower and creates even more competition for places."
Better news came with Martin Thompson's rejection of an approach from Bedworth United.
Cadden said: "Bedworth put in seven days notice to talk to Martin but he's decided to stay with us."
"With Russ Dunkley going he's got a chance to make the number nine shirt his own and he wants to do that."
In a further boost on-loan Nuneaton Borough winger Jamie Towers is likely to stay for the rest of the season.
